On June 8-10, 2018 we will be hosting the first Causing a Racket benefit tennis tournament for Jean Hilsman. We would like to invite you to sign up and participate! This tournament is for youth and adult players and will be at Byrnes Park Tennis Center in Waterloo. Sid Kalala came to me a few months ago, and wanted to do something for Jean that could make an impact and help her financially. He recruited Krisha Keeran, Daniel Buchanan and Pranav Chandra to help plan and run the tournament. All proceeds raised will go to the Jean Hilsman Benefit account where we are helping Jean cover living expenses as she can’t work the hours she had prior to her breast cancer diagnosis. Jean has done remarkably well through surgery and now taking chemo like a champ! We made this tournament a non-USTA tournament, so that anyone can participate! Let’s fill Byrnes Park Tennis Center like the old days in Jean’s honor and to raise money for her!
